Ward the Longest Road

You are here: Home1 / Ward the Longest Road

This is a game about walking in the wilds of Voldomartz, and that’s exactly what we’ll be doing. Like the 2022 Navarr event Walk the Longest Path, and 2025’s Beat the Longest Bounds, we’re going to be going for a walk over the course of Saturday, exploring the 300 acres of Forestry Commission land around Eversley, this time with a Varushkan flavour supplied by Becca, who co-wrote BTLB with Johnny.

Along the way we’ll find all manner of local problems to deal with, stop for regular breaks and have opportunities to enjoy the company and atmosphere of the Varuskhan countryside.

There will be opportunities to “take the cart” and skip a leg or two if needed, and terrain will be a mixture of beaten earth tracks and deer paths, but please be aware that there may be uneven footing, puddles and the occasional detour if needed. Good shoes and water are essential.

Themes: Varushkan customs, Day-to-day encounters, Harsh environments, Day-to-day Peacekeeping, Negotiation, Group Participation, Going for a nice walk

Threats: Varushkan monsters, bandits, local wildlife… Nothing too life-threatening.

This is an event about the perils of Varushkan lands off of the roads, the work that goes into protecting Varushkan people and the reasons why Varushkans are so particular about their rules and laws. There will be a variety of encounters, ranging from combat against creatures in the woods to a friendly stranger travelling just like you, on the roads.
