What is this game?
The Dragon’s Hunt is set in the Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire universe. Following an alternate series of events, King Rhaegar Targaryen has taken the throne and the banners of Rebellion have not yet been raised.
The Dragon’s Hunt is set two months after the coronation and three months after the northern delegation, including Rickard and Brandon Stark, were violently executed by King Aerys II.
Players take on the roles of powerful named characters from across the Seven Kingdoms who have been invited to formally celebrate the recent coronation with a royal hunt. Each will receive a personally written brief that explains their personal situation and political agenda. These briefs are not scripts, but encouragement and suggestions for making the most out of their story.
Vie for power, foster allegiances and settle grudges in this changing age. Decide whether conflict, honour or tradition will win out. There is no predetermined ending to The Dragon’s Hunt, and how the story unfolds is entirely up to the characters..
Who is this game for?
LARPers who enjoy high drama and interpersonal relationship development. A song of ice and fire enthusiasts most of all. This is a dive into the political setting of Westeros and what it means to change things in a world like this. There will be out-of-camp encounters to provide interesting experiences and encourage character development – but the main show is the drama, plotting and celebration between the characters in camp.
The Lords and Ladies of Westeros fashion themselves as civilised but are always a spark away from fire. Especially on the edge of the wilderness. If you enjoy political and idealistic conflict, this game will have ample amounts.
The rigid expectations of gender and etiquette create a framework to play your character’s experience to the fullest. It benefits everyone if people play into these systems. This game should be of interest if you want to play a character trapped by the expectations of society.
There are years of loyalties and grudges at work. The character briefs are written to encourage everyone to bring those to the foreground. If you want to create dramatic scenes and make risky political decisions then you should come and play a character at The Dragon’s Hunt.
