In the shadows of your subconscious, nightmares coil like serpents, whispering of eldritch terrors. Once a sanctuary, your dreams now harbor haunting specters, with visions of loss and an enigmatic island clawing at your sanity, beckoning you into the abyss.
Waking with a shiver, beads of sweat clinging, a singular compulsion consumes your thoughts, relentlessly pulling you, – the island of Saint Pierre, essentially owned by the reclusive Vanderbilt family.
Silenced by an unyielding demand echoing in your mind, you’re physically incapable of revealing the ominous compulsion. Yet, as if by fate, an opportunity arises to traverse to this island. Be it through a mysterious invitation to the Vanderbilt family’s clandestine parties, a headhunt for your unique skills, or perhaps through more deceptive means. How you arrived matters little; now, the crucial question looms – what fate awaits you on this enigmatic isle?
Eldritch Isle is looking to be a series of loosely tied together one-shot horror larps that take place over a multitude of time periods, the action of players, their choice, more importantly their deaths will echo back and forth in time.
The first instalment of this series, Eldritch Isle: Dark Waltz, unfolds in the year 1929, just on the cusp of a new decade and in the aftermath of the stock market crash. It’s a peculiar era marked by a blend of optimism and permissiveness. As a player, you will take on the role of one among a diverse group of individuals, each possessing unique skills and varying levels of experience. All have been mysteriously compelled to converge on the enigmatic Saint Pierre Island.
Widely known as a forgotten French isle off the west coast of the Americas, Saint Pierre is essentially under the ownership of the eccentric and reclusive Vanderbilt family. Once prosperous from the whale oil industry, their wealth has dwindled due to its recent collapse.
