The Wayhouse at the Crossroads to Everywhere

10th-11th and 11th-12th September 2021

The hamlet of Felin Bach in Goldglades isn’t much to look at, merely a Wayhouse and collection of shelters and buildings in use by the many stridings that pass through Miaren on their way to the outer reaches of the Empire.

However, since 381YE, Felin Bach has picked up another name, one that the locals have embraced – the Crossroads to Everywhere. When the sinkhole known alternately as Lorenzo’s Deep Pockets, Downwold or the Bloody Big Hole collapsed, taking the borders of Miaren, Temeschwar, Hahnmark and Upwold with it, it also removed a section of the ox-cart roads and trods. The result has been that the trods next to Felin Bach has become more well…trod, and the place has earned a reputation for chance meetings – many a citizen has found themselves at a table with an old friend or bumping into someone from their past on their way North or South, East or West.

Pull up a seat by the fire or in the wayhouse itself, and perhaps you’ll experience it for yourself.

After the success of the first pair of Wayhouse events, we’re reopening our doors in September.

We find ourselves with a gap in the calendar in what would have been Empire E4.

To keep things simple, we’ll be hosting two evening socials to let everyone dust off their kit and get back into a little gentle socialisation.

As we’ll still be under restrictions, each evening social will be capped at 40 attendees and we’ll be operating a takeaway service from the kitchen. Dinner is included in the ticket price and a preliminary menu is posted in this event page.

All indoor seating areas will be spread out and restricted to 6 to a table to comply with guidelines – these may change in the lead up to the event. There are also handwashing areas available in the major settlements and next to the kitchen serving hatch.

There is ample space to pitch tents and hammocks in the Viking Village, and we’re excited to test out the new access road through the area so attendees can drop off their kit by car.

A large outdoor firepit is currently under construction in the Viking Village, but feel free to bring your own. Fires must be off the ground and on a concrete slab, of which we have many to lend out.

Tickets will be available from Friday the 20th August at 7.30pm below.
Feel free to buy tickets for both evenings, but please be aware that we must restrict events to 40 attendees.
